It happens again and again that trainees have serious doubts about their decision after a few weeks or months in the company. There can be many reasons for this – and there are some that should not be taken lightly. Here you can find out when a change of training place actually makes sense and what you should bear in mind.
Reasonable reasons for changing training places
Dispute with a colleague or a rebuke from the boss are certainly no reasons to change jobs or even to pursue a different career. However, there are certain conditions under which it is appropriate to consider a change of job:

If you don’t learn enough or feel underchallenged or if you notice that the training is overstraining you.
If you are sexually harassed by someone in the company.
If you are expected to work unpaid overtime and/or your salary is late or not paid at all.
If nobody feels “responsible” for you or you are not properly trained.
If you feel uncomfortable in the company or are even bullied.
If you are used above average for simple help activities such as making coffee or cleaning bathrooms.
First think, then act
Before you drop out of your training out of desperation, a job change is of course the better alternative. But there are also obstacles you should be aware of. For example, you will not only have to give your new trainer a plausible justification for the change , but also all personnel managers with whom you will present yourself in the future. For this reason a discussion with the superior should stand in the first place. Make sure you have your new apprenticeship place before informing your current employer about your plans. Be sure to formulate your wish for a new training company or a new occupation in a factual and professional manner. 2. Legally secure termination of training place
The ideal solution is a termination agreement in which both parties waive the continuation of the training contract. The only other way is a termination without notice on the part of the trainee, which in the worst case could result in a claim for damages on the part of the employer. - violations of occupational health and safety regulations.
3. Clarify claims
Make sure that your last salary is paid in full, your working papers are complete and both overtime and remaining leave have been calculated correctly. Don’t waive your rights just because you leave the company.
